How to Update/ Cancel USPS Mail Forwarding Request?
Follow the simple four steps to update or cancel your mail forwarding request online.
Step 1: Visit USPS.com
This is how official website of United States Postal Service (USPS) looks like:
Step 2: Click on “Change of Address” under “Track & Manage”
Hover your mouse pad over the “Track & Manage” option and then click on the “Change of Adress” option as shown in the image below.
Step 3: Click on “view, update or cancel a Change Of Address order”
You will be directed to the official USPS change of address page. Below you can see “view, update or cancel a Change Of Address order”, click on that option to proceed further.
Step 4: Enter your Confirmation Number & Zip Code
If you want to view, update or cancel a Change of Address order you already submitted then enter the confirmation code and zip code. A confirmation code can be found at following places,
- If you submitted your form online, the code is included in your confirmation email.
- If you submitted your form at a Post Office or online, the code is printed in the change of address order confirmation sent to your new address.
Click on “Submit” button after entering the correct confirmation code and zip code.
After signing in, you may be able to make some of the following updates:
- Add your email address and receive reminders of mail forwarding expiration dates
- Change the start date of mail forwarding
- Change the end date of mail forwarding (In case you filed a temporary move)
- Update or change the phone number
- Switch from a temporary move to a permanent one
- Switch from a family move to an individual move (though not from individual to family)
Please note: Few things cannot be edited such as your name and few selected elements of your Addresses. If you need to modify elements of your address that are not allowed, you will need to cancel your Change of Address Order and File a new one.
If you want to make any other changes and that option isn’t available, you’ll be able to cancel the original request and file a new one after you sign in.
