1) Check Mail Delivery Standards
First and foremost, you need to check the mail delivery standards. Each mail class has some delivery standards i.e. take particular days to reach the destination. The delivery standards vary from one mail class to another. That’s why it is always recommended to check the mail class delivery standards before assuming or jump to the conclusion that you mailpiece is delayed or late.

2) Track Your Package
USPS provides a service called USPS Tracking, which allows users to track their packages or check the delivery status of their mailpiece. To track your packages, you need a tracking number. A tracking number is a unique number which is assigned to each mailpiece which is shipped through USPS. This number let users track the current status of the package in the delivery mainstream.

- Visit the official USPS Tracking page.
- Enter the tracking number, make sure to enter the correct tracking number, check the samples from above.
- Then Click on “Track” option.
- The most recent tracking status of your package will appear on the screen.
If you can’t see any status or the tracking is not updating, then check back regularly throughout the day. If you can’t find any information through tracking then contact the customer service department.
3) Contact the Customer Service Department
If you have the tracking number then contact the customer service department.
